Ainsley Cobb (’24) J1, journalist
Ainsley Cobb is a junior at Pacific Ridge School and is currently in her first year of Journalism & Media Studies. With a broadening interest in international law and relations, she aspires to make an impact in the world of diplomacy and global affairs. Her passion for storytelling extends beyond the written word, as she is an avid photographer and filmmaker who utilizes both mediums to effect social change and express her own creativity.
In addition to her academic pursuits, Ainsley has been an active member of Global Vantage–a non-profit organization that seeks to bridge cultural divides through the art of storytelling–for the past three years. In her current role as co-leader, she has facilitated partnerships between students and communities around the world and has helped to create an annual publication that showcases their work. Through her involvement with Global Vantage, she has had the opportunity to travel to Kibera, Kenya, where she worked alongside partner journalism clubs to empower fellow youth to tell their own stories and advocate for change.
Ainsley’s work in Journalism & Media Studies class has allowed her to explore many of today’s critical global issues, such as the empowerment of marginalized communities through journalism. Her ultimate aspiration is to use her skills in international law and photojournalism to promote positive change in the world.
